Digital dental X-rays give your dentist a clearer picture of what’s happening below the surface, showing your teeth, roots, jawbone, and surrounding structures that a regular exam simply can’t reveal. Instead of old-fashioned film, digital sensors capture the image almost instantly, so your dentist can spot any concerns right away and plan the care that fits your needs.
Not everything shows up when we look with our eyes alone, and that’s exactly why dental X-rays matter. They give us a way to spot issues like:
You won’t need to do much for your digital X-rays; they’re one of the simplest parts of the whole visit. Everything is focused on capturing a clear, accurate picture, so your dentist has exactly what they need to look after you well.

Your dental team will take a look at your oral health, any symptoms you've mentioned, and your overall needs before deciding whether X-rays make sense for you.

A small digital sensor is carefully positioned in your mouth to capture the areas that need to be examined.

The X-ray images are taken within seconds while you remain still to help produce clear, useful results.

With the images in hand, your dentist takes a close look, checking for anything unusual and figuring out whether you'd benefit from further evaluation or treatment.

Not necessarily. Your dentist decides based on your dental health, symptoms, risk factors, and the care you may need.
