When Are Dental Crowns Needed?

Dental crowns are the workhorses in dentistry today. Crowns are like "caps" that completely cover the existing tooth. They are often used to protect a tooth weakened by trauma or severe decay. However, they are also a beautiful cosmetic solution to mask a tooth that is less than perfect. Common reasons you may need a dental crown:

Broken or Cracked Teeth

A tooth that has been broken or has a crack is susceptible to further damage and infection. Dr. Cenk can design a crown to protect it from further harm and restore its original shape.

Severely Decayed Tooth

Fillings just rest on a tooth and don't provide much support. If your tooth has been severely weakened by decay, our dentist can strengthen it with a natural-looking custom crown.

Broken or Cracked Teeth

If you are missing a tooth, crowns can support a dental bridge to fill the gap. Or, a crown can be attached to an implant to replace the tooth. An added benefit: an implant keeps your jaw strong.

Root Canal Treatment

If you are missing a tooth, crowns can support a dental bridge to fill the gap. Or, a crown can be attached to an implant to replace the tooth. An added benefit: an implant keeps your jaw strong.

Cosmetic Improvements

If you are missing a tooth, crowns can support a dental bridge to fill the gap. Or, a crown can be attached to an implant to replace the tooth. An added benefit: an implant keeps your jaw strong.

How Much Does a Crown Cost?

A regular dental crown typically costs between $800 and $3,000. However, prices will vary depending on a number of factors, such as the type of dental material used to create it. You may also need treatment, such as a root canal, before a crown can be placed, which also adds to the cost. To get an accurate cost, we recommend requesting a consultation. This will allow our dentist to assess your mouth and give you a solid quote based on your actual needs. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to call or leave a message.
