How Much Does a Crown Cost?

A regular dental crown typically costs between $800 and $3,000. However, prices will vary depending on a number of factors, such as the type of dental material used to create it. You may also need treatment, such as a root canal, before a crown can be placed, which also adds to the cost. To get an accurate cost, we recommend requesting a consultation. This will allow our dentist to assess your mouth and give you a solid quote based on your actual needs. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to call or leave a message.

See How A Dental Crown Is Placed

At Redd Road Family Dental, Dr. Cenk has years of experience placing both same-day and traditional crowns. While many patients prefer same-day crowns, some cases require sending crowns to a dental lab for fabrication. In either case, the restorative steps of placing the crown are similar.

Accurate Diagnoses

We are equipped with the advanced equipment that helps us identify the root cause of each unique oral health problem. We will conduct a full exam to accurately diagnose your oral health issue.

The Convenience of Same-Day Crowns

Faster Crowns Without Sacrificing Quality

In the past, getting a dental crown required multiple trips to the dentist: one to shape the tooth and plan the crown design, and a second to place the crown. But thanks to the use of sophisticated CEREC dental technology, beautiful crowns can be designed, fabricated from high-quality porcelain, and placed all in one appointment.

In addition to not having to squeeze another dental appointment into a busy schedule, same-day crowns also mean you won't have to wear a temporary crown, which requires precautions while chewing to avoid accidentally dislodging it.

How CEREC Technology Works

Dr. Cenk will first take precise measurements of the treatment area using 3-D scanning technology. This information is then transmitted to our CEREC software so Dr. Cenk can design your custom crown.

The completed design can then be milled immediately using the highly precise CEREC milling technology we have in-house at our El Paso office. Dr. Cenk uses high-quality porcelain to create the durable crowns our patients depend on.

Consultation

Dr. Cenk will examine your tooth to determine if it needs a dental crown or whether a simple filling can protect it. If a dental crown is needed, Dr. Cenk will explain the treatment and answer your questions.

Preparation

To ensure quality results, some teeth need treatment, such as a root canal (we can refer you to a trusted endodontist), before the crown can be placed. If you are replacing a missing tooth with a dental implant, then the dental implant will need to be placed before a crown can be attached.

Shaping

The tooth will be shaped so the crown will fit over it comfortably and restore the tooth's shape.

Impressions

We can capture a precise impression of your tooth digitally using our CEREC technology. This allows us to create a 3-D image of the treatment area and design a custom crown that fits comfortably.

Fabrication

If you have chosen a same-day crown, Dr. Cenk will mill your dental crown out of high-quality porcelain while you wait. If you have selected a traditional crown, the crown design will be sent to a trusted lab for fabrication, which typically takes a couple of weeks. You will be fitted with a temporary crown to wear until your permanent one is ready.

Placement

When the crown is ready, Dr. Cenk will place it in your mouth to test the fit and determine if any adjustments are needed. Once you and our dentist are satisfied with the crown, we will cement it in place.
