A cavity rarely shows up out of nowhere. It builds slowly through missed cleanings, weak enamel, or habits that go unnoticed for years. Redd Road Family Dental offers preventive dentistry in El Paso, TX for every age, built on exams, cleanings, X-rays, fluoride, sealants, and the habits you keep at home.

Preventive dentistry pairs regular dental visits with the daily habits you already practice, like brushing and flossing. Together, they lower your risk of tooth decay, gum disease, plaque buildup, enamel damage, and tooth loss.
Catching a small problem early usually means a simpler fix than waiting until it grows into something bigger.
What you need depends on your age, oral health, and history with cavities or gum issues. Not every visit includes every service below.

Dr. Cenk or Dr. Gross checks your teeth, gums, and bite for early signs of trouble.

Our hygienists clear away plaque and tartar that brushing alone can't reach, especially near the gumline.

Digital imaging shows what's happening between teeth and below the gumline, often before you feel anything.

A quick fluoride application strengthens enamel and helps prevent early decay from progressing.

Sealants cover the grooves in back teeth, a common cavity spot, especially for children and teens.

A routine exam includes checking the mouth, tongue, and throat for anything unusual.

Early gum disease often responds well to a deeper cleaning and better home care.

Patients who grind or clench at night can protect their teeth with a custom night guard.
A preventive visit usually moves through a few steps.

We ask what's changed since your last visit, including sensitivity, bleeding gums, or anything that feels off.

We check your teeth and gums for decay, inflammation, wear, or existing fillings or crowns that need repair.

X-rays aren't part of every visit. We order them based on your history, age, symptoms, and risk factors.

Your hygienist removes plaque and tartar, polishes your teeth, and shares tips for your home routine.

We go over what we found, suggest any extra care, and set a timeline for your next visit.
There’s no single schedule that fits every patient. Some people do fine with routine exams and cleanings on a fairly standard timeline.
Others need more frequent visits based on a few common risk factors:
Our dental team looks at your situation and recommends an interval that actually fits you.

Redd Road Family Dental has served El Paso since 1986. Both our dentists focus on exams, cleanings, and catching problems early. Our hygiene team blends two decades or more of chairside experience with newer staff trained on the latest techniques, and they take the time to explain what they see.
We treat patients of every age, from a child’s first cleaning to adults who’ve been with the practice for years. Digital X-rays give us a clearer picture, so treatment decisions rely on less guesswork, and we walk you through the findings in plain language.
Yes, but not at every visit. We recommend X-rays based on your dental history, symptoms, and risk factors.
Most dentists suggest a first visit around a child’s first birthday or once their first teeth appear, so we can help you build good habits early.
Regular cleanings and exams catch early gum inflammation before it turns into something more serious.
Most exams and cleanings finish in under an hour, though a first visit or one with X-rays may run longer.
Regular exams and cleanings are the easiest way to keep small issues from turning into bigger ones. Call Redd Road Family Dental at (915) 833-3484 to find a visit schedule that fits you.
